Please Take These Important Steps BEFORE
Submitting Your GI Bill Application:
  1. DECIDE ON SPECIFIC FIELD OF STUDY/PROGRAM: See an academic counselor with questions regarding program content and availability. (Counseling Department: 533-7026)
      

  2. SUBMIT SCHOOL APPLICATION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE: (Student Services: 533-8006)
      

  3. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR ASSESSMENT TESTING: (Testing Department: 533-7074)
      

  4. IMMEDIATELY REQUEST ALL TRANSCRIPTS FROM PREVIOUS SCHOOLS BE SENT TO SCC ADMISSIONS DEPARTMENT: SCC is allowed to certify your classes to the VA for only three quarters until your transcript(s) arrive(s). Transcript request cards may be obtained from Student Services area.
      

  5. CAREFULLY READ THIS VETERAN'S GI BILL "GUIDELINES" PACKAGE: Please keep this information package in a safe place and review occasionally--it will help you stay out of overpayment status.
      

  6. SUBMIT VETERANS BENEFITS APPLICATION PAPERWORK: (Campus Veterans Affairs Office: 533-7027)

IMPORTANT: Please be advised that it is to your advantage to plan your finances wisely...be prepared to pay "out of pocket" for your first quarter. It is possible your VA educational benefits may not arrive until sometime after you have registered.
