Financial Aid

This site provides information and resources to help you finance your education at SCC.

If you have not yet applied to school, Admissions will provide information on how to get started. Applying to school is a separate process from applying for financial aid. You must complete the Admissions process before financial aid services will offer you an award.

Who is Eligible?

Anyone who demonstrates financial need and:

  • has a high school diploma or GED;
  • is admitted/enrolled in an eligible program;
  • is pursuing an accredited certificate or degree;
  • is an American citizen or an eligible non-citizen;
  • is registered with Selective Service (if required);
  • is a current student making satisfactory progress;
  • is not in default or repayment on prior federal, state or institutional funds; and
  • is not disqualified based on a conviction for a drug-related offense.

Eligibility is normally based on a student's and/or parents' prior year's income and assets. If there has been a major income change, you may see a financial aid advisor to discuss review of your change of circumstance after your file has been processed using the prior (base) year's information.
