Professional Truck Driver Training
The SCC Truck Driving program is a four-week, 160-hour noncredit self-support course that emphasizes the knowledge and
procedures necessary for the operation of tractor-trailers. Classroom theory and over-the-road training prepares you for
the CDL Class A written and driving (skills) test. The program meets all minimum requirements for the state of Washington,
and entry level requirements in the trucking industry. Students satisfactorily completing the course receive a Recognition
of Attendance.
This program is offered Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and
Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and/or 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Friday afternoon time is dependent on number of students

The next class is May 8 through June 7, 2013. Tuition cost for the training is $3,600.00.
SCC is not offering night or weekend classes for this program. We offer CDL Class A training with endorsements in airbrakes,
combination vehicles, tanker, tanker trailers, double and triples, and hazard material. Employers are waiting to hire

Prerequisites:
- Students must be 18 or older
- DOT physical required prior to start of class
- Valid Driver's License from state in which student resides
- Motor Vehicle or valid Abstract Driving Record; three years
Additional Costs:
- SCC Campus Parking Permit: $20 plus tax
- CDL Permit: $20
- Skills Test: $100
- Permanent License after class completion: $95
Students who wish to withdraw and receive a refund after enrolling and clearing cashiering must complete an official
Withdrawal Form.

100% refund, minus $7 processing fee, for student-initiated withdrawals three business days prior to the first day of
class

No refund granted two business days or less prior to the start of a class. A business day is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday
through Friday.
Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA) does not support this program. If you are utilizing unemployment benefits, the
WorkSource office may have funding available. Please call
