Community Engagement Services - Photos

Our AmeriCorps Sponsored Programs Include:

Service Learning: AmeriCorps Vista - Washington Campus Compact

Service Learning enables students to take knowledge gained in the classroom and put it to work in the community. Through Service Learning, students impact their community by applying their knowledge and skills to real-life situations gaining hands-on experience and other workforce skills. Our office works closely with community agencies and can either assist faculty if they would like to implement a Service Learning project in their class or assist students in finding a Service Learning project individually.

Peer to Peer: Mentoring & Retention Project - Washington Campus Compact

The Peer to Peer Mentoring & Retention Project serves to connect gender non-
traditional students and other non-traditional students with experienced student
mentors. These student mentors can assist the new students as they begin their careers
at Spokane Community College. Students involved in peer mentoring programs, either
as a mentor or a mentee, gain increased social and academic confidence, in addition
to improved communication, study, and personal skills.
