Scenes of Life - The Far Side of Life - (Winter 2011)
Winter 2011 marked the SCC Players' second annual one-act festival. It was titled Scenes of Life: The Far Side of Life.
Scripts were submitted by students and faculty and then directed by students and Adam C. Sharp. The submitted scripts were divided
amongst the directors and, after actors were cast, the directors worked on the scenes. This year we saw a varied range of works,
some were serious in tone, while others were more humorous. But, overall, it was a great success for everyone. The directors included
returning student director Will Gilman (Is This Love?, 1984, Scenes of Life) and newcomers Chris Bastible
(The Dining Room and A Cloud of Victims), Dixie Sampson (The Dining Room) and Marci Summers (The
Dining Room and A Cloud of Victims). This year, the directors were as if they were in the stands at a hockey game,
improvising to announce each scene. This was a great celebration of joy and tears.
