The International Peer Mentors (IPM) program matches international with American (resident) students in peer mentoring teams. This unique program provides peer support for internationals and Americans that enhances each student's intercultural experiences and communication skills for one academic quarter or more.

International and resident students have the opportunity to learn more about SCC, Spokane, and the world through activities and friendship with their peer mentors.

Peer mentoring allows international students to:

  • Develop international friendships
  • Improve language skills and/or interpersonal communication
  • Gain greater understanding of another culture
  • Share and clarify understanding of their own cultures
  • Broaden their world views
