Work, THEN Study
When an international student completes an academic program of at least nine months in duration, (s)he qualifies for a one-year work authorization.
- These authorizations have very few restrictions. Students can work in any region of the U.S. and in any city.
- These one-year work authorizations are great opportunities for international students:
- Working for a year in the U.S. allows international students to continue to develop their English proficiency.
- A year working in the U.S. will give the students professional and cultural exposure they never would receive as a student.
- Students can earn money during this time to help defray costs of continuing their education.
-
Many of our A.A.S. degree programs require students to undertake internships as part of their curriculum. Faculty and staff will assist the students in securing a
suitable internship position
-
Students can return to our colleges at the conclusion of their one-year work authorization to continue their education. And a student who transfers to a four-year
university to complete a bachelor's degree can qualify for a one-year work authorization after the two-year degree and after
the four-year degree.
For further information about how you can qualify for this great opportunity, contact the International Students office.
