Admission Requirements
Language Requirements
English proficiency is required for admission to the regular academic program at the Community Colleges of Spokane. Students can prove
English proficiency by providing the following test scores:
| TOEFL | 500 (paper-based) / 173 (CBT) / 61 (iBT) |
| IELTS | 5.0, with no IELTS band lower than 5.0 - academic version only |
| Cambridge | CAE grade C or better |
| TOEIC | Minimum score of 610 |
Students may also provide English proficiency by completing a qualified English language program. Students must provide a completion document.
Students who do not have the necessary English proficiency are granted admission to the ESL program at either Spokane Falls Community College or
Spokane Community College and are guaranteed admission to either Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) or Spokane Community College (SCC) upon
completion of the ESL program.
Students who enter the Community Colleges of Spokane Dual Enrollment Program ("2+2") are also guaranteed admission to CCS partner
universities upon completion of the CCS Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree. No TOEFL score is required for this guaranteed university transfer.
Admission Due Dates
Students who are applying for admission to the regular academic program at Spokane Community College should submit
their completed application packets approximately 90 days before the start of the term for which admission is requested.

On Arrival
Students entering the United States using the SCC I-20 must attend the New Student Orientation.
New students are required to complete the first term at SCC, and must have health insurance while attending SCC.
