- The Climate - The name "Spokane" is an American Indian word that
means "Children of the Sun." Spokane enjoys a beautiful 4-season climate, and over
260 days of sunshine each year! Compare that to many locations on the west side
of the State of Washington (Seattle - Vancouver - Portland area) where they receive
over 280 days of rain and gray skies each year.
- The City - Spokane
is a modern city with a population in the region of 450,000. The motto
of the City of Spokane is "Near Nature. Near Perfect," meaning that Spokane enjoys
a beautiful and clean environment. International students who have attended colleges
and universities in Spokane attest that it is a good place to live and study. Spokane
is a friendly city, and international students often comment on the kind hospitality
of the people in Spokane. Spokane has been featured in a special section of Alaska Airlines & Horizon Air Magazine magazines.

and beautiful campus with over 20 modern buildings.
- SCC has a world-class homestay program.

student advisors, international transcript evaluation, visa assistance, a four-level
Intensive English Language Program, bridge classes in ESL, an active International
Student Club, a unique Peer Mentor association.

students can choose DYO programs and develop their own short-term academic programs.

college or to either of the ESL programs. We also offer an excellent agent
bonus, which is also described in the
