Student Activities
International students at many opportunities every day to make new friends and explore
the American culture here at Spokane Community College. American students are eager
to learn more about the Global community, and will be glad to meet you. We encourage
international students to share their experiences with American students, to ask

Friendship will surely be returned.
The Spokane area's ethnic markets help accomodate

needs of the students to faculty, administration, and government officials. The
ASG is made up of the Associated Student Council (ASC) and the Student Activities
Council (SAC).
Associated Student Council
The purpose of the Associated Student Council (ASC) is to best represent the needs
of the students to faculty, administration, and government officials. ASC budgets
and allocates Service and Activity (S&A) Fees. S&A Fees are the portion
of each student's tuition allocated back to them through this fund. ASC also coordinates
student tenure review committees and members, allocates student building funds,
and represents students at the Board of Trustees meetings and student lobby organizations.
All students are welcome and encouraged to attend meetings.
Student Activities Council
The function of the Student Activities Council (SAC) is to plan and coordinate all
activities on the campus with clubs and organizations within the school. The SAC
reviews and publicizes various activities and events offered to students. Everything
from lectures to musical entertainment to comedians to family nights are organized
through this council. All students are welcome and encouraged to attend.

a significant way for SCC to contribute to the community's cultural life. The Hagan
Foundation Center for the Humanities is a place where a community of minds can gather
to explore various perspectives and ideas.
This year's theme is "Sustainability: Living Lightly, Living Well" .
Throughout the academic year, the Center will be the place where people and ideas
regarding sustainability will meet. Members from the college and the community will
be given the opportunity to examine sustainability from a variety of perspectives
- from the food we eat and the cars we drive to the houses we live in and the literature
we read.
