HVAC/R

What classes are taught?

Topics covered include basic HVAC systems, electricity, heating, local gas and oil codes, load calculations, cooling, refrigeration, duct design, sheet metal fabrication, and troubleshooting. These skills are taught from lab applications coordinated with classroom theory and actual job site experience.

For more detailed information, please view the course descriptions.

Every school year, students participate in a home building project along with SCC's Carpentry and Cabinetry program. The heating and cooling of the house from start to finish is part of the valuable training HVAC/R students receive.
