Course of Study

During the first four quarters, students study the basics of electrical systems, air conditioning, power train, hydraulics, gas engines and diesel engines. At the same time, they gain practical shop experience applying what they have learned. Related classes include math, technical writing, communications, leadership and first aid. The last two quarters are spent in practical shop applications, with more extensive type repair operations and the use of specialized equipment, tools, information and technique. Specialized welding and fabrication techniques are practiced.
