Biomedical Equipment Technician Curriculum

The student must complete the basic electronics core curriculum prior to enrolling in the Biomedical Technician option. Course
study includes both class lecture and hands on lab experience. The curriculum gives comprehensive training in circuit analysis,
laboratory techniques, and the use of modern test equipment. Included is a balanced study of peripheral subjects that makes the Biomedical
Equipment Technician unique. These subjects include fundamentals of physics, chemistry, physiology, medical terminology, hospital ethics, and
hospital safety. Included are special lectures and laboratories in repair and preventative maintenance.
