Academic Integrity
Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the use to pass off as one's own the ideas or writings of another. It is important in
any type of writing that one's own work is used. If another's work is used, it is important to give
credit to that source. More information about citation guides and evaluating resources can be found
through the SCC Library.
Copyright
Copyright grants rights and protection to authors and developers of creative works. With the
increasing usage of the Internet for delivery of online coursework, it is important to resolve the
numerous and complex issues of copyrights. Using copyrighted material without the author's
consent is a violation of the law. Follow this link for more information about copyright compliance.
