eLearning Tools

  • Respondus
Respondus is a powerful tool for creating and managing exams that can be published directly to online courses or printed for use in on-ground courses. You can import exam questions from Word files and quickly publish assessments to ANGEL.
  • LockDown Browser
Integrated with ANGEL, LockDown Browser helps reduce student cheating during online tests. This custom browser prevents students from printing, copying, going to other URLs, accessing other applications during an online test, or exiting a test before it's been submitted.
  • Tegrity
With Tegrity, instructors have the ability to record classes, or portions of classes, for later review by students. It allows the recording of content presented on the computer screen and instructor audio and video. Tegrity is integrated with ANGEL for ease of use and easy uploading of recorded material directly into ANGEL courses. Recordings are automatically created in various delivery formats so students can view them from the Web or on their phones or MP3 players. Students can take notes, text search across all recordings in a course, and create bookmarks that are time synced with the presentation for study efficiency. Students can also make recordings using Tegrity, fulfilling student presentation or demonstration assignments.
  • Elluminate/Collaborate
Collaborate (formerly known as Elluminate) is a powerful and easy-to-use synchronous, multimedia, online collaboration tool that can be used for meetings with at-a-distance participants, live instruction and demonstrations, virtual office hours, classroom and student collaboration, student orientation sessions, or remote guest speakers and virtual field trips. Collaborate is integrated with ANGEL so you can easily schedule a session and post the link (URL) directly into ANGEL courses.
  • Media Server
The media server allows faculty to upload and manage all media types, including images, sound, and video files from within ANGEL. Users may upload as many media files and use them in as many courses as they choose. Flash (.flv) or MPEG-4 (.mp4) video files and M4A audio files can be streamed or downloaded, or both making it easier for instructors who want to control access to streamed files. A media file needs to be uploaded only once. You can then add the file to any course or location in ANGEL, including repositories. Media Files are treated the same as any other lesson content item in ANGEL.
  • Open Educational Resources
Open educational resources (OER) are textbooks, materials, or content that is openly available (can be readily found), openly accessible (exists in a form which others can readily use), and openly reusable (faculty can easily modify and the license allows such). The goal is to support faculty who wish to identify, locate, and utilize digital open educational resources to connect with content either as a replacement for traditional educational resources or to supplement existing resources. By using and contributing to open educational resources, we increase student access to educational opportunities, lower textbook costs for students, and provide new resources for faculty to use in their courses.
Instructions for using these and other eLearning tools can be found in ANGEL.
