What is WorkFirst Financial Aid?

WorkFirst Financial Aid is a tuition assistance program that is available to parents who are working, who have dependent children, and who meet income guidelines.


What does WorkFirst Financial Aid provide for the student?

  • Tuition and book assistance
  • Required fees
  • Educational planning
  • Job placement through WorkSource

You may be eligible for WorkFirst Financial Aid if...

  • You are receiving Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)
  • You are have a dependent (under the age of 18) child residing in your home
  • You are a parent financially responsible for your child under the age of 18
  • You are working part- or full-time while enrolled in school
  • You want to upgrade your job skills or retrain for a better job
  • You fit into the Low Income Guidelines (your family income must be at or below 175% of the federal poverty level - see chart below)

How does one apply for WorkFirst Financial Aid?

  2. Call (509) 533-7249 to make an appointment with Susan Morgado
  3. Have proof of your last two months of your household income when you come in for your appointment
