Customer Service Representative

You may earn college credits toward a certificate or degree through the successful completion of online classes. Students may complete
most credits required through our extensive online class offerings. Many of the tests for the courses are proctored; local colleges and
libraries are often willing to proctor exams.
Students living outside the Spokane area with questions concerning nontraditional credits should contact the department chair.
Program Description
The Customer Service Representative program prepares students to work as customer service representatives for the telephone industry, major department stores, collection agencies, credit bureaus, airlines, travel agencies, medical
insurance agencies, public utilities, and telephone answering services.
Students who successfully complete this program are prepared to:

use positive human relations skills to successfully deal with customers in person or by phone;

understand the importance of customer service and its direct relationship to the success of a company;

use Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel, and Outlook); and

obtain information from the Internet, assess quality of information, and identify Internet consumer issues.
