
5. Machining Cylinder Head
Here, a student machines a cylinder head for false valve seats. Students spend time in the head shop area performing a wide variety of procedures
on cast iron and aluminum cylinder heads. They use some of the industry's latest equipment as well as older style head shops. In addition to
grinding valves and seats, they learn to machine all three angles in one step. Crack repair is also emphasized, and students have the opportunity
to use three types of crack repair methods including TIG welding.
