19.  Assembly Room

Students enrolled in the automotive machinist program spend time in the assembly area during the course. Here, students are assembling engines. The process includes checking and calculating bearing oil clearance and piston-to-cylinder wall clearance. The engine assembler will also perform block preparation including final cleaning; painting; and installation of soft plugs, camshaft bearings, and oil gallery plugs.
