18.  Regrinding Camshaft

This student is regrinding a camshaft. The cam grinder is another way to help students understand how the cam and valve train work with the crankshaft, rods, and pistons. Camshaft grinding is critical thinking at its best. Students learn the different characteristics of a cam lobe and all that is necessary for a successful job. Students also have the opportunity to make camshaft masters as well as "park rise" cam lobes. Our thanks to Leonard's Machine in Spokane for the cam grinder.
