Architecture/Engineering Dept.
Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) / A.A.S., Certificate
Graduates of our program qualify for a variety of technician positions in manufacturing. Employers hire you for your
ability to develop complex engineering drawings and make design decisions for strength, application and manufacturing
processes. The MET program at SCC teaches critical thinking and computer drafting skills needed to develop manufacturing
drawings for everything from a car to a complex robotic work-cell. Our six-quarter A.A.S. degree qualifies graduates for
technician positions in drafting, design, sales and consulting for small and large companies throughout the Northwest
and across the country. We also offer a four-quarter certificate within the MET program for CAD drafters (see
CAD program details).
Articulation to four-year schools
After completing the MET degree, a student may transfer to Eastern Washington University as a junior to complete a
bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. See the CCS Articulation Agreement for more information.
